Rapid Computer?

OK, I have a windows xp, laptop, and i bought it in january 2007, at first it was super fast, i mean, all programs loaded in a sec, and when i entered a website, the page will fully load in one sec. but then it started to decrease the perfomance of how fast it is. No it's not any spyware, antivirus, trojan, etc. because i daily scan for any of it. Is there any way to make my com. go any faster as it was? instead of degrag, ?

Why not just run a defrag? Also I recommend downloading CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/), running the file and registry fixer. Doing all three of these things should speed your PC up, but the thing is, the more stuff it has on it, the slower it's going to run.

While taking into consideration all that was mentioned above try this as well

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up your task manager. What I've noticed is that computers when they are New have less than 40 processes running. Which means less things in the background.

If your higher than 40 then...

1. Go to start

2. Click on Run

3. Type msconfig in the open textbox

4. Go to the General Tab

5. Select: Selective Start-up and leave everything selected EXCEPT Load Startup Items
