AVG and Comodo Firewall clash?

I was running AVG Antivirus and Comodo Firewall but they clash which results in the AVG email scanner not working.

I uninstalled AVG and installed Avira but it does not scan emails at all.

Would you recommend I change to a different firewall, (and if so, which one would you suggest),and reinstall AVG, or is there other antivirus software which will scan emails and not conflict with Comodo (which I like)?

This will work better for you:

Comodo Firewall %26 free Avast AV:

Avast scans e-mails - higher detection rate than AVG but lower than Avira.

i think you got your wording wrong they don't exactly clash ,it just that when avg wants to go get it's updates, which occurs on a daily basis your firewall is denying it permission am i right? you can run avg and comodo together you just have to configure comodo to allow avg access to the web for it's updates. or failing that turn off the automatic update feature of avg and manually get your updates. if by chance there is a clash over scanning e-mails just turn it off and go to one of the web based e-mail clients i.e. yahoo/hotmail or g-mail. anyone who really cares about keeping their windoze clean does'nt use outlook anyway.
Norton Anti-Virus will scan emails, and Norton has a firewall (in Internet Security or 360 package) and I don't have a problem with them.
I have never heard of AVG conflicting with Comodo before, but if you are sure they are, then you will obviously need to remove one of them.
