I have a symantec antivirus. how do I scan for spyware please help

Check to see if your symantec anti virus has the capability to check for spywear. many don't, they just check for viruses.

If you think you have spywear, do a system restore on your PC. it only takes about 10 min.

Go to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, pick System Restore. (you will then choose restore your system from an earlier date). When it shows you the months, go back and choose a day when you remember your computer was running good. go back weeks or months. This will not delete any of your files.
Anti-Virus is not good at removing spywares,adwares,trojans and pop up.

In fact, The best way to get rid of spywares,adwares,trojans and pop up is using a best anti-spyware to protect your computer.
