My pc suddenly run really slow and won't open any program?

For some reason my computer just run really slow and won't open any program nor restart or shutdown, so i have to manually press the power button for it to shut down. Everything was fine this morning before i went to work, just like usual, i check a few email this morning then shut it down and go to work, after i get off work today i turned it on, it start up normally but when i tried to open a program it take forever and wouldn't even open it, and my network icon wouldn't even show up either, I tried to back up all my music to a USB drive and the computer wouldn't even recognize any USB insert into it.

i don't think i did anything this morning, all i did was checking some email and reading a few post in a forum i visit regulary. i have a few anti spyware and virus install and scan very often too. Avast Antivirus doesn't alert me about any infection. does anyone have any idea what is happening.

Click start%26gt;click run type in msconfig and then press enter. Goto the start up tab and uncheck everything except your anti virus,click ok and reboot.
