yahoo gets hacked all the time. Sometimes they get threw. They fix the prob. and they do it again. so let it sit 4 a night over night. In the morning if it still doesn't work. restore yahoo.com. that should fix it. later.

Is there a virus that targets yahoo/ yahoo mail ?best antivirus software

There may be viruses. You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

May be, but every big company at internet will be attack by virus. If you can't open the site please make sure that your internet connection is on. to check it further you can try to ping it from your DOS command. Find out your ip config by typing "ipconfig /all", after that type "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" first try your gateway. If it's ok, you can go with ping www.yahoo.com.

you have to know, symantec is not the best antivirus. you can try kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com/
When I get on this site (Yahoo Answers) my Kapersky Internet Security has blocked this MSSQL.worm. Helkern! many times already. I have read that this worm affects servers but not home computers. How did you remove the pop-up ad? You need to enable your pop-up blocker on your toolbar. Don't click on the pop-up. Maybe you can try the free online scanning at the Kapersky website.
