My computer has Windows 2000 professional and includes Norton Antivirus 2002 edition. My question is is the Norton really scanning since it is outdated because whenever i do system scan it goes thru the scan process and shows me if there are corrupt files.

It is scanning.. But, it may not be scanning everything that newer version would scan for. My advise is to upgrade your Norton Security program and see how much more it scans.

You haven't gotten any new virus definitions in a couple of years. Dump the Norton (it's junk anyway) and get AVG Free.
