This is a Malware Removal guide for XP Home or XP Pro:

Enable viewing of hidden files, system files and file extensions

Some programs hide themselves by making their files invisible in normal Windows settings.

Not doing this would allow file extensions commonly used by trojans and spyware to be hidden, for example a file ending in .exe or dll making manually

finding it, if needed, difficult to impossible. To do this go to My Documents and click on the Tools menu and then click on folder options. Click the "VIEW"

tab and select "Show hidden files" and click OK.

Run Ccleaner to clean out temporary files. http://majorgeeks.com/download4191.html

Now run combofix.exe %26 follow the prompts... http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUB...

Now install, configure and run Spybot 鈥?Search %26 Destroy. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.h...
