Virus help?

when i close internet browser, a popup says there is porn on my computer and it begins to automatically run a antivirus. I can tell it is fake. i scanned with a virus scan, and i have a security Norton Antivirus but it didn't help. what should i do?

Thats because its not a virus, its spyware.



spybot search and destroy [ http://safer-networking.org ] will definitely get rid of basic adware like that.



edit: From what you described it doesn't sound like smitfraud but the guy above is right, if it is trying to sell you some kind of spyware remover then it is smitfraud which is a more complex spyware.

Upgrade your Norton to include anti spyware.
Spy bot search and destroy will solve your problem download it and run your computer in safe mode and scan.

Is that phony virus scam advertising trying to sell you, one (or more) of these useless products? Don't buy anything that it is advertising It's a scam! If it is one of these, then it is likely an infection called Smitfraud that is causing the phony warnings. It is scam advertising trying to swindle you.
