Is there a legitimate program that provides HTTP scanning?

I want to know if there is any program who's design it to filter out malicious content from reaching the computer. I know its available in eset nod 32 (called http scanning) kaspersky (web antivirus) and avast (web shield) but are there others? Please let me know. Thanks...

This is best addressed through your choice of web browser.

Use Mozilla Firefox available here:

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

I would then get the following extensions.

-adblock

-filter g (for adblock)

-no script

-siteadvisor (available from McAfee)

-show ip

In addition you can try Peerguardian which keeps a blacklist of questionable or prying IP addresses.

Hope this helps and GL :-)
