If you use an ReWrite CD or DVD, it will erase all the content on the media first and then you can rewrite the files to it. You may need to copy (risky) the content from the DVD or CD to your HDD and then run the anti virus. Once it has been cleaned, then create a new CD or DVD.

you cant once files have been written to a dvd or cd rom they are read only.
DVD is a read only medium you cannot disinfect the DVD, because to disinfect it you would need to be able to write to the DVD.
